About Company

Established in 2000, Runiter Company is dedicated to the development of high-quality yet affordable software products for the general public. Currently, the focus of the company is the development of educational software products that provide visual, tutorial and computational aids for college and university level students. We do not however limit ourselves to educational products and will soon expand to cover other fields of public-interest as well.

Location

Runiter company was established in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and remained there from 2000 to 2009. In 2010, the company relocated to its current location at Cambridge, MA, USA.

Story of Graphing Calculator 3D

The idea of Graphing Calculator 3D came to Dr. Saeid Nourian in 2007 when he was still a graduate student in University of Ottawa. As a student he noticed first hand how effect software tools are in understand science and mathematics. He specially felt the need to visual mathematical equations and data in 3D. However the existing software tools were slow, difficult to use, expensive and could not generate high resolution graphs. Since his specialty was in computer graphics he decided to utilize the power of graphics card to compute and render 3d graphs fast. He chose Java and Java3D as the platform for his new product because Java programs can run on Windows, Mac and Linux with minimum effords.

The result is a graphing tool downloaded by half a million students and teachers across the world. 2016 saw a series of frequent updates that fixed many bugs and added several major enhancements thanks to feedback received by several dedicated professors who use GC3 to create teaching materials for their classrooms.
