Graphing Calculator 3D Inequalities

This page explains how to plot inequalities in 2D and 3D.

Steps:

  1. [Optional] Select the graph ("2D", "3D").
  2. [Optional] Select the coordinate types ("Cartesian", "Polar", "Cylindrical", "Spherical").
  3. Type in your equation starting with x, y or z variables, followed by < or > operators.

Examples:

Here are some 2D Cartesian inequalities you can type in the program:

  • y<3
  • y>3
  • x<3
  • y<sin(x)

function inequality Inequality along x axis Inequality above the curve

Here are some 3D Cartesian inequalities you can type in the program:

  • z<3
  • z>3
  • y<3
  • x<3
  • z<sin(x)+sin(y)

Here are some 2D Polar inequalities you can type in the program:

  • r<3
  • r>3
  • θ<3
  • r<sin(θ)

Here are some 3D Spherical inequalities you can type in the program:

  • r<3
  • r>3
  • θ<3
  • r<sin(θ)+sin(φ)
